We previously posted the recipe for our version of the BEST dog birthday cake ever! This is a simplified version of it when you do have not much time in hand or don’t have all the ingredients. My usually fussy dogs can’t get enough of this one but make sure to feed in small quantities as cakes are just treats. Refer to our previous blog post for more tips!
Ingredients
| Cake base | Frosting |
| 1 cup Chickpea or Oat flour ½ cup 100% smooth peanut butter – no xylitol ¼ cup coconut oil melted (extra to coat the moulds) ½ cup Keffir milk / yogurt 5 quail eggs / 1 Chicken egg (room temp) 2 teaspoon baking soda | 150g light cream cheese (room temp) 150g cream cheese (room temp) 2-3 tbsp cup tapioca powder Decorations Fresh flowers – can remove before feeding or fresh fruit (blueberries) |

Instructions
Cake base
Pre-heat the oven to 160ĀŗC – The cake cooks fluffy and airy when cooked at low temperature, especially when cooking in a deep cake pan linked.
Coat cake pans with coconut oil
Mix the wet ingredients for the base in a large bowl
Add flour and baking soda and fold the mixture (do not over-mix it, over mixing can make the cake hard)
Add Kefir milk or flour to adjust consistency.
Fill the cake pan – Baking time may depend on the pan and the oven.
Bake until the toothpick comes out clean and let it cool down
Place the cake in the fridge for a couple of hours for ease of decoration
Frosting
Whisk cream cheese untill cremy and slowly add tapioca powder to make the frosting
Once the cake cools down, add frosting using a spatula
Decoration
This is the easy part because you can use any flower or fresh fruit available to you. Decorate with a ‘Happy Birthday’ sign, candles etc. – refer to images for inspiration.

We used this recipe to make Ollie’s 5th birthday cake (in photos) and hope you’ll love this recipe as much as we do! Let us know if you make it and all the unique was how you decorated it. We’d love to hear from you!
